To user acceptance test Soundscape you need to download and install the app on your iPhone using TestFlight.

How to Download TestFlight to use Soundscape



Note: Steps 1 and 2 should only be followed if you have not installed the Testflight app onto your iPhone before and accepted the invite to download the Soundscape app from Testflight. 


If you have already done these steps then you can go directly to step 3.


Step 1: Install TestFlight from App Store

  • Unlock your iPhone and go to the home screen.

  • Locate and open the "App Store" app. If you cannot find it on your home screen, you can use the Search function by swiping down from the centre of the screen and typing "App Store."

  • Within the App Store, find the Search and within the Search bar type “Testflight”.

  • Once you have found “TestFlight”, download it.

  • Once it is downloaded, it should be available to you on your device.



Step 2: Accepting TestFlight Invite:

  1. Unlock your iPhone and go to the home screen.

  2. Open your email App on your phone.

  1. Locate the “Soundscape” Testflight invitation and open it. If you are a new tester on the app, then please select “Accept” as this will allow you to download of the app.

  2. Once you have downloaded the App, you can open it from Testflight by selecting ‘Open’ within the Testflight window.

Step 3: Using TestFlight:

Note: This is for users who have already downloaded Testflight and want to navigate to Testflight from within their device.

  1. Unlock your phone and go to the home screen.

  2. Locate and open the "TestFlight" app. 

If you cannot find it on your home screen, you can use the Search function by swiping down from the centre of the screen and typing "TestFlight."

Step 4: Navigating the TestFlight App:

  1. Upon opening TestFlight, you will be presented with a list of available apps for testing.

  2. To navigate through the list of apps, use VoiceOver or your preferred screen reader to swipe left or right. VoiceOver will announce the currently selected app.

  3. Double-tap anywhere on the screen to open the selected app's details.


Step 5: Seeing information about Soundscape:

  1. Inside the app's details page, you will find information about the app, its version, description, and the "Install" button.

  2. Swipe down to read the app's description and any relevant information. VoiceOver will read the content out loud.


Step 6: Initiating the Download:

  1. Locate and focus on the "Install" button.

  2. Double-tap anywhere on the screen to initiate the download process. If prompted, you may need to confirm the installation.


Step 7: Monitoring the Download Progress:

  1. After tapping "Install," the app will begin downloading.

  2. A progress indicator will typically appear on the screen. VoiceOver will provide updates on the download progress.



Step 8: Granting Permissions (if necessary):

  1. Some apps might require additional permissions before they can be installed. If prompted, review the permissions and tap the appropriate buttons to grant access.

Step 9: Completing the Installation:

  1. Once the download is complete, the app will automatically install.

  2. When the installation is finished, VoiceOver will announce that the app has been installed.

Step 10: Accessing the Installed App:

  1. To find the newly installed app, go back to your home screen.

  2. Navigate through your home screen using the usual VoiceOver gestures to locate the app's icon.
